The city of San Mateo has approved the construction of a $1.5 million 1,000-hectare arboretum in the heart of the city. Attractions include the largest tree garden in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Marin County Arboreum and Botanical Garden and the Santa Clara County Botanical Garden (approx. Interesting restaurants include the old San Jose Public Library and a number of restaurants. The old retail area, which has become a hot bed for cheap ethnic restaurants, has been reused as a shopping mall for local businesses.
Located in the heart of San Mateo County, north of the San Francisco Bay Bridge, the Sawyer Camp Trail is a popular destination for joggers, hikers and cyclists. The roughly 6-mile route begins in San Jose and runs north parallel to Interstate 280 from Hillsborough to San Bruno.
North of Highway 92 there is a nice walking area that allows dogs, as well as a picnic area and dog-friendly parking. South of the San Mateo County Courthouse and north of H Highway 92 is another beautiful walkable area with a park, bike path and lots of dogs allowed in the dog area. And to the east of it is an open air park with picnic areas and many dog parking spaces.
It is home to the endangered Blue Butterfly mission and is full of birds, butterflies, birds of prey and other wildlife. Use of the park and open spaces in the area is provided by the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Department and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
One of the best properties is one of my favorite places in San Mateo County, the San Jose Farmers Market. There is a wide selection of fresh produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, and you will love the roadside stand with its unique products. Here at the markets in the Bay there is a good farmer and there are a lot of different fruits, vegetables and herbs to buy.
The most famous natural area is Coyote Point, a rock that towers over the San Francisco Bay. Sailors had the idea to name the cape on the edge of the New York waterfront after the coyote. Today, Coyotes Point is part of San Mateo County, formerly known as Curiosity. The bay near Fremont is home to numerous natural reserves, including the Golden Gate Bridge, San Jose State University and the Santa Clara River.
It served as a stagecoach stop and then as a stopover on the railroad, and became a popular place for affluent San Franciscans to go home for a weekend. From the 1850s onwards, they began to build summer and permanent homes in this milder part of the peninsula.
Although most of the earliest settlements were built near Hillsborough and Burlingame, a number of historically significant villas and buildings have been built in the area since the late 19th century, and a significant number of new buildings will be built in the coming years due to the ongoing redevelopment of this historic site and its proximity to the San Mateo River. The former site of an old train station on the south side of Hillsboro Road will be converted into a large mixed-use development that includes an acre of park including a town square.
Morrow said San Mateo County supported the new residency rule when Governor Gavin Newsom enacted it. In a statement last week, county officials said: "Mateo will not issue new local residence orders at this time, but will continue to work with business and community representatives to comply with existing policies. And in Contra Costa County, where strict rules on staying at home were enacted Sunday, Health Minister Dr. Chris Farnitano said he did not think he could wait until the state's new restrictions take effect later this month.

Caltrain operates three stations in the city of San Mateo, one in Santa Cruz and two in San Jose. One of the twin cities is the Japanese Tea Garden in Central Park, which was created in honor of Toyonaka during his visit to Santa Clara in 1855. Central Park is considered the largest public park in Silicon Valley and the second largest in California. It houses many community parking facilities that serve the residents of the city center, but CentralPark has been considered the most important park since it opened in 1906.
